About Us
Wisconsin Families for Local and Affordable Energy is a non-profit, non-partisan advocacy organization dedicated to putting families—and the communities they call home—at the center of energy policy in Wisconsin. We believe every household deserves access to clean, reliable power at fair prices, not just as consumers, but as empowered citizens.
In a state where utility monopolies have long controlled who can build solar and where options for customers to lower their bills remain limited, we champion community-led models that unlock local decision-making, keep jobs in rural and urban regions alike, and strengthen the grid by spreading generation and decision-making. We support the Local Solar bill introduced by Senator Patrick Testin and Representative Scott Krug, which gives families, farmers, and small businesses new opportunities to save money and generate local energy.
We work with farmers, cities, and families across Wisconsin to advance policies that deliver local control, real bill savings, and a cleaner future—and we urge every Wisconsinite to call their state legislators and ask them to support this commonsense, pro-family legislation.
